The HM-WS1 is a semi-automatic Karl Fischer coulometric moisture analyzer designed for budget-conscious laboratories requiring reliable trace water determination. Employing the Karl Fischer coulometric titration principle — based on the quantitative reaction of iodine, sulfur dioxide, and water — the instrument measures moisture content across a range of 0.0001% (1 ppm) to 100% with a sensitivity threshold of 0.1 μg H₂O.
The instrument features automatic stirring control and completes a typical determination in approximately 60 seconds. A sealed titration cell bottle prevents reagent exposure to the operator, while compatible solid and liquid sample injectors enable indirect measurement of diverse sample types. The LED five-digit decimal display provides clear numerical readout, and the electrolysis current is automatically controlled up to a maximum of 400 mA.
