The HM-CWF2 Ultra-Micro Spectrophotometer extends the capabilities of three-wavelength UV detection with the addition of a fluorescence nucleic acid quantification module, making it a versatile mid-range platform for biological sample analysis. Alongside the standard 230 nm, 260 nm, and 280 nm absorbance channels and OD600 bacterial culture measurement, the HM-CWF2 incorporates a 470 nm excitation fluorescence channel that dramatically increases detection sensitivity for DNA and RNA.
The fluorescence module works by specifically binding fluorescent dyes to target nucleic acids, reducing the detection limit to 0.5 pg/µL (dsDNA) — far below the threshold achievable by UV absorbance alone. This makes the HM-CWF2 particularly valuable for applications where samples are highly diluted, contaminated with interfering substances, or available only in trace quantities, such as NGS library preparation and single-cell genomics workflows.
All measurement modes share the same liquid column surface tension platform — no cuvettes, no dilution, just 0.5–2 µL per test. The intelligent Android 10 interface automatically recognizes the selected detection method and presents results directly on the 7-inch touchscreen, with simultaneous thermal printing and wireless cloud data upload. The three-light-path mechanism (0.04 mm / 0.2 mm / 1.0 mm) and UV-enhanced CMOS detector ensure equally robust performance across UV and OD600 channels.
