The HM-B400 Multifunctional Portable Water Quality Detector combines multi-wavelength spectrophotometric water quality analysis with anodic stripping voltammetry for trace heavy-metal detection in a single portable platform. The spectrophotometric module uses a 420–860 nm LED light source system with pre-configured analytical wavelengths matched to national standard methods, enabling direct calculation of COD, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, and 45 additional parameters from the 49-item test library. The voltammetric heavy-metal module employs anodic stripping voltammetry — applying a negative voltage to enrich metal ions on the working electrode surface, then reversing the scan to produce characteristic stripping peaks for qualitative and quantitative analysis. This method offers sensitivity far superior to traditional colorimetric or X-ray fluorescence approaches, achieving 0.5 ppb detection limits for cadmium and lead in water samples. The instrument uses disposable screen-printed electrodes that eliminate polishing and cross-contamination, with a magnetic elastic-contact electrode holder for convenient replacement. Single heavy-metal sample testing completes within 20 minutes with real-time stripping voltammogram display. For applications also requiring biological toxicity and ATP testing, the HM-B500 full-configuration model integrates all four detection modules on the same platform.
