The HM-D3 Automatic Potentiometric Titrator integrates a dedicated dead-stop detection module alongside the standard four-method titration platform. Dead-stop titration employs a dual platinum electrode system under a small constant polarization voltage, monitoring the current change as reversible redox couples appear or disappear at the equivalence point. This method delivers high sensitivity and is particularly suited for volumetric analyses based on iodometry and sodium nitrite titration.

The dead-stop module provides three selectable polarization voltages — 30 mV, 50 mV, and 100 mV — with ±1 mV accuracy, and a current measurement range of 0.00 μA to 200 μA. The sharp current transition at the endpoint allows the HM-D3 to achieve precise endpoint determination even in dilute systems where conventional potentiometric signals may be insufficient.
