Two LED light sources emit two types of light, one is red light (650nm) and the other is infrared light (940nm). The two types of light penetrate the blade and hit the receiver. The light signal is converted into an analog signal, which is amplified by an amplifier and converted into a digital signal by an analog/digital converter. The digital signal is processed by a microprocessor to calculate the SPAD value and displayed on the LCD screen.
