Product Overview

The HM Instruments HM-ZSA is a 6-channel colorimetric analyzer for heavy metals and associated elements in prepared sample solutions. The documented sample scope includes soil, fertilizer, crops, vegetables, fruit, water and food. Sample digestion and the appropriate color-development reagent convert the target analyte into a measurable solution; optical measurement follows the Lambert–Beer relationship within the applicable calibration range.

This model provides 6 sample channels for multi-sample testing. It is not a direct-reading X-ray fluorescence instrument: sample preparation, analyte-specific reagents and suitable calibration are required.

Testing Items and Timing

The test menu covers arsenic, lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, nickel, aluminium, titanium, selenium, iron, zinc, manganese and copper, with fluoride available as a related analyte. Select the methods and reagent kits for your target elements.

Manufacturer workflow estimates are approximately 60 minutes for the five tests of lead, arsenic, chromium, cadmium and mercury, and approximately 30 minutes for an individual iron, zinc, manganese, copper or aluminium test. These estimates include soil sample pretreatment and reagent preparation, rather than optical reading time alone.
