Product Overview

The HM Instruments HM-ZLD is an integrated laboratory distillation apparatus with 3 independently controlled heating positions and 500 mL distillation flasks. Three positions with time-based endpoint control, built-in cooling, automatic cleaning and airtightness testing.

Key Features

A 7-inch colour touchscreen provides independent settings and status monitoring for each heating position.
Far-infrared ceramic heating bowls contact compatible round-bottom flasks, without an open flame.
Anti-backflow protection and dry-heating protection are included; tubing and liquid levels must still be checked before use.
Time settings cover 0–999 minutes, with up to 600 W of heating power per position.
Time-based endpoint control stops the programmed heating cycle at the selected duration.
A built-in cleaning pump flushes the distillate line without removing the flask body.
Automatic airtightness checking helps inspect the assembled distillation path.
Storage for up to 1,000 methods, including 18 commonly used national-standard method presets.
The integrated chiller provides a 5–25°C controlled cooling-water circuit.
Reverse blowing drains circulating water from the condenser tubes.

Applications

Designed for laboratory pretreatment procedures that require distillation, including environmental monitoring, water and wastewater analysis, inspection laboratories, research and teaching. Applications include distillation pretreatment for ammonia nitrogen, cyanide, volatile phenols and sulfides in water, with further soil, sediment and food method references.

Use the sample preparation, glassware and distillation procedure for the selected analyte. Analyse the collected distillate using the corresponding analytical method.

Operation and Support

Use the compatible flasks, assemble and secure the condensers and tubing, and verify that the paths are unobstructed. Establish cooling-water circulation before heating. Follow the method and instrument manual for liquid loading, parameter settings, collection and shutdown; keep the receiver clear of the delivery-tube walls and base.

For weighing-based operation, avoid touching or vibrating the receiver and weighing tray. Use the specified pure water in a chiller. Inspect tubing for wear, clean glassware after use and follow the manual for the model-specific cleaning procedure.
