The structure consists of a 90 degree curved intake pipe and an outer bottle for sampling liquid. The bend on the upper part of the intake pipe simulates the obstruction of aerosol particles by the upper respiratory tract of humans. At the end of the tube, there is a micro hole nozzle, which accelerates the airflow to reach the speed of sound. The jet airflow is used to collect microbial particles in the air into the liquid sampling medium. Due to the adhesiveness of the liquid, microbial particles are captured.

The liquid impact sampler is particularly suitable for concentration determination in experimental air microbiology. Commonly used for aerosol sampling in experiments such as the dosage of microbial aerosol animal infection, recovery rate of microbial aerosol survival, research on aerosol tracers, dosage of human aerosol immunity, sterilization effect of air disinfectants and disinfectors, and retention effect of filter materials and filters.
