Product Overview

The HM Instruments HM-QDZ1 volume and surface resistivity tester measures the electrical resistance and resistivity of insulating materials. It combines a shielding chamber, a DC test voltage source and a 7-inch touchscreen in one unit for laboratory material evaluation and quality control.

The specified resistance range is 5 × 10⁴ to 1 × 10¹⁷ Ω. Volume resistance, surface resistance, volume resistivity and surface resistivity are separate test results; resistance error varies with the resistance range as shown below.

Key Features

  • Measures volume resistance, surface resistance, volume resistivity and surface resistivity.

  • Integrated picoampere-sensitive current acquisition module for weak-current measurement.

  • Automatic voltage, range and timing control, with automatic calculation of results.

  • Seven-inch touchscreen displays voltage, current and resistivity in real time.

  • Built-in DC high-voltage source with six fixed voltage steps and continuously adjustable settings.

  • Real-time result printing and separate storage for three measurement modes.

  • Integrated shielding chamber and main unit, with overcurrent and short-circuit protection.

Applications

Applications include plastics, rubber, films, resins, mica, ceramics, glass, insulating varnishes and other solid insulating materials, as well as powders and liquids. Select the electrode and sample arrangement for the material and test method.

Applications include insulation-material research and quality control, polymer and composite material evaluation, university teaching and research, and electrical-property testing.
