GIR-1600 Infrared Optical Gas Imaging Camera

GIR-1600 Infrared Optical Gas Imaging Camera

Product Number:

GIR-1600

Product Difference:

The GIR-1600 uses a cooled HOT Type-II Superlattice detector (320×256, 3.2–3.5 μm) with NETD <10 mK to visualize 400+ VOC species non-contact from unlimited distance. Integrated 4G LTE, GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou, and PID/FID wireless connectivity make it a complete field LDAR solution.

Product Introduction

The HM Instruments GIR-1600 is a professional-grade optical gas imaging (OGI) camera designed for non-contact, long-distance visualization of volatile organic compound (VOC) leaks in petrochemical, chemical, natural gas, and environmental inspection applications. Equipped with a cooled High-Operating-Temperature (HOT) Type-II Superlattice infrared detector operating in the 3.2–3.5 μm spectral band, the GIR-1600 visualizes over 400 VOC species — including methane, benzene, ethanol, and gasoline vapor — as visible gas plumes against background scenes, enabling rapid source identification without requiring inspectors to approach hazardous equipment.

The HOT detector architecture operates at approximately 120 K, compared to the 77 K required by conventional InSb detectors. This higher operating temperature reduces Stirling cooler load, lowers power consumption, minimizes heat output, and extends the cooler motor's service life — translating to longer battery runtime and reduced maintenance frequency in field deployments. The NETD of <10 mK at 25°C and gas detection sensitivity of ≤20 mK place the GIR-1600 in the same performance tier as international OGI cameras priced significantly higher.

Applications

  • Petrochemical and refinery LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) component surveys

  • Natural gas wellhead, compressor station, and pipeline inspection

  • Chemical plant fugitive VOC emission screening

  • Municipal solid waste landfill gas migration detection

  • Power plant fuel system inspection

  • Environmental enforcement agency inspections

Functional Performance / Features

  1. Cooled HOT Type-II Superlattice detector — 320×256 resolution, 3.2–3.5 μm spectral band, operates at ~120 K for extended cooler life

  2. NETD <10 mK @ 25°C — industry-leading thermal sensitivity enabling gas visualization under challenging field conditions

  3. 400+ VOC species detection — covers methane, ethanol, benzene, gasoline vapor, toluene, propane, butane, and a broad range of hydrocarbons

  4. Non-contact long-distance inspection — unlimited observation range; effective detection at 30–100 m under typical field conditions

  5. PID/FID wireless integration — links with external quantitative instruments to combine OGI visualization with concentration measurement

  6. 5.5-inch OLED touchscreen (1920×1080) plus 0.49-inch OLED viewfinder for dual-display operation in all lighting conditions

  7. 16 MP integrated visible camera — simultaneous infrared and visible imaging for precise leak source localization

  8. 4G LTE + GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou — real-time data upload and GPS-tagged evidence records for LDAR documentation

  9. Temperature measurement -20°C to +350°C — ±1°C or ±1% accuracy with max/min/center/auto-track modes

  10. Android 9.0 / Qualcomm 8-core processor — open platform supporting third-party software integration

  11. IP54 weatherproof, ≤2.5 kg — suitable for all-weather outdoor industrial inspection

  12. ≥3.5-hour battery life — full-shift field operation on a single charge
