The HM-DK2 is a handheld headspace gas analyzer from HM Instruments, engineered for simultaneous measurement of oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations inside sealed food and pharmaceutical packaging. Unlike single-gas instruments, the HM-DK2 dual gas headspace analyzer delivers both readings in one sampling cycle, which is essential for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) verification where the protective gas mixture must be confirmed before product release.
The electrochemical O2 sensor covers 0–100% with 0.01% resolution and ≤±0.2% accuracy, responding within 15 seconds. The infrared absorption CO2 sensor spans the same range at 0.01% resolution with ±(0.03%+5% of indicated value) accuracy and a response time under 20 seconds. A built-in pump draws the sample — less than 5 ml for O2 and less than 15 ml for CO2 — so package integrity is preserved. Two-point calibration against the JJG 365-2008 reference standard keeps measurements traceable. Weighing just 450 g with a 3000 mAh lithium battery rated for eight hours of continuous use, the HM-DK2 is designed for production-line and warehouse testing where portability matters.
